The low-maintenance one

Polywood on the floor, poly furniture that lasts.

If you want outdoor furniture you can leave out all year and mostly forget about, this is it. Poly furniture is molded from dense recycled plastic lumber, so it never rots, splinters, or needs refinishing the way wood does. Polywood is the name most people walk in asking for, and we keep it on the floor in Longwood alongside the rest of our outdoor patio furniture. Come sit in a chair, knock on the arm, and feel how solid it is.

Set it out and forget about it

Hose it off, sit back down, and do it again for years.

The material

What is poly outdoor furniture?

It is furniture made from poly lumber, a dense board milled from recycled plastic that looks like painted wood and behaves nothing like it. The color runs all the way through, so there is no finish to peel, chip, or repaint. It will not rot, it will not splinter, and bugs have no interest in it. Polywood is the brand that put the material on the map, and it is what most people mean when they say poly furniture. Berlin Gardens, another line we carry, builds in the same material. The easiest way to understand it is to pick a chair up. It is heavier than it looks, which is part of why it stays put when the wind kicks up before a storm.

Built for the climate

Why does poly furniture hold up so well in Florida?

Because the things that wreck outdoor furniture here do not bother it. UV does not fade solid poly the way it bleaches a cheap resin set. Humidity and afternoon downpours do not swell or warp it. Salt air does not corrode it, and the hardware is stainless, so nothing rusts and streaks down the legs. Wood looks beautiful on day one, then asks for oiling, sanding, and a fresh coat every year or two in this climate. Poly asks for almost nothing. Inland around Orlando and Longwood or out on the coast, it works the same, and when pollen or dust settles on it a quick wash is all it needs. Our outdoor furniture care guide covers the details.

Why visit the showroom

Poly colors read differently in person.

Poly comes in deep, saturated colors, and a swatch on a screen never quite matches the real thing. In the showroom you can line the colors up, see how a shade looks next to your pavers or your house, and feel the difference between a flimsy chair and a solid one.

  • See the full range of poly colors side by side.
  • Sit in Adirondacks, dining chairs, and deep seating.
  • Delivery and setup across Central Florida.
  • A price match guarantee on what you find for less.

Poly vs wood

Is Polywood worth it compared to wood?

Over a few Florida summers, yes. Teak and cedar look gorgeous the day they arrive, then they weather, gray, and need regular upkeep to stay that way. Poly skips all of that and looks about the same in year eight as it did on delivery. It costs more up front than a big box resin set, but it tends to outlast several of them, so the math usually lands in your favor. If you are weighing it against aluminum or wicker, come compare them in the same room. Browse the outdoor furniture brands we carry, then come sit in them at the Longwood showroom.

The poly lines we carry

Which poly furniture brands does Patio Style carry?

Polywood is the one people come in asking for, and we keep a real selection on the floor in Longwood. Berlin Gardens builds in the same recycled poly lumber and gives you a second line to compare side by side. Both hold their color and shrug off the weather, so it mostly comes down to the styles and shades you like. Sit in a few and we will help you narrow it down.

Good to know

Poly furniture, answered.

Do you carry Polywood?

Yes. Polywood is on the floor at our Longwood showroom, so you can sit in it and see the colors in person before you buy.

Is poly furniture the same thing as Polywood?

Close. Poly, or poly lumber, is the recycled plastic the furniture is made from. Polywood is the best known brand that makes furniture out of it, which is why people use the names interchangeably.

Does poly outdoor furniture fade in the Florida sun?

Good poly holds its color for years because the color runs through the material, not just across the surface. That is the difference between it and the cheap resin sets that chalk and fade after a season.

How do you clean poly furniture?

Soap, water, and a soft brush for most of the year. No sanding, oiling, or repainting. It is the lowest maintenance outdoor furniture we sell.

Do you deliver and set up?

Yes. We deliver and set up across Central Florida, including Orlando, Winter Park, Lake Mary, and the surrounding communities.
